This property is one of 6 newly built luxury semis on a prestigious gated complex of just 9 houses. Surrounded by gorgeous rolling countryside, they are in a magnificent setting with views over Box Valley towards Bath.
The developer was coming to the end of a rather arduous build when I was invited to quote for furnishing one of the properties.
He had had his fingers burnt, with ‘show-home people’ in the past, charging exorbitant amounts and dressing the properties with ‘ridiculous expanses of fuss and frills’. The only reason he’d agreed to see me, was on estate agent recommendation for offering a simple, more pared back, style of show-home dressing and a possible furniture rental package.

There were a few false starts with this project. I eventually got a date booked in to style the house in late October rather than early September as planned. And, a week before I got on site I found out I was dressing plot 5 instead of 4…the same size just the mirror opposite and with windows/angles in different places.
Thankfully, most of the furniture selected and chosen fitted without any issues and the colours were bold enough to be noticed but soft enough for the developer to feel comfortable about the pieces selected.
The sun shone on the photo image day for the professional photographer, the Open Morning was extremely well received and “lots of lovely comments were made about the styling”.
All we need now is for the agent to get a confirmed offer and that’s another good job done.
